Yummy Sound from the Raspberry Pi
David Snyder

Here's a blog post that I typed up this afternoon to document my thoughts and experimentation so far with Roon and The Raspberry Pi Model 3:

It sounds ridiculously good. I have no idea how it compares to the popular microRendu, but this is an easy and inexpensive way to dip a toe into streaming. Cheers.

Another Hifiberry card and case arrived today. Just from playing with it a little, I can already tell that the Digi+ Pro is a great solution for transforming a traditional S/PDIF DAC, preamp, or receiver into a high performance network streamer that is compatible with Roon, Volumio, Runeaudio, and others.

Assembly complete...no tools required

The photos above show it attached to a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B that's running DietPi and Roon Bridge. Definitely worth checking out if you like tinkering with digital audio.

Installed in a HiFiBerry official case...pretty, but a dust/fingerprint magnet.  :)

Cheers.
