Your system requires a digital streamer for those of you who use streaming audio sources, whether it Tidal, Qobuz, Spotify, Apple Music, etc. For some, this is now commonly found in many DACs. Still, for many, the Raspberry Pi is a fantastic DIY solution that I would argue is one of the most versatile, cost-effective, and competitive solutions available.
Our resident expert, David Snyder, led a fantastic meeting a few years back about this topic and these hardware solutions. I use a ROON server at my house and have several endpoints (stand-alone systems) throughout the home where these specific solutions are currently in place and working. But I am downsizing and have a few for sale for those interested.
They currently use Dietpi and are configured as Roon Endpoints,but they are also great solutions for Ropieee, Volumio, and others. These are bundled as complete kits, meaning they are a Streamer and DAC bundle, and are $250.00 per.
