Pioneer HPM-100 Speakers and Rotel RB-1080 Amp
Author Last Post

I'd love to see some photos of the HPM-100's. How do the drivers look?

The HPM-100 was the loudspeaker that introduced me to high-performance playback about 35 or so years ago. A high school friend's father owned a pair of the 200 watt version. One listen, and I was hooked. Mostly Mannheim Steamroller, The Moody Blues, Jethro Tull, etc.

It would be a lot of fun to hear them again. My son still lives in the area (Alpharetta), so I may be interested in purchasing them for him to carry on the tradition. Thanks.

Hello everybody - I have the following available if somebody is interested:

1 pair Pioneer HPM-100 speakers in decent condition, original walnut veneer. These have not been used much in their 40 year life, were installed in a hardly used corporate auditorium for 25 years before I picked them up and as they were not admitted to the living room they dwelled in the basement.

I modified the crossover on one and have the parts for the other but have lost interest. All the details on that are here:

Also, I have a Rotel RB-1080 (a big beast) power amp that works fine though the right channel, to me. could have something going on. I bought this used a dozen years ago or so.

Just trying to find a good home for both - somebody who is interested and wants to use / tinker with one or both. You can offer something or a really good bottle of wine :-)

I am located in Vinings - if interested in either or both please let me know!

PS: I also have a Rotel RSP-1066 and a pair of Pioneer HPM-40 (smaller budget companion to the HPM-100) that I can throw in (or away).
