I am an audiophile living in the Atlanta area and I have a pair of Martin Logan Aerius I speakers, purchased from Pete Marshall's now defunct store in Marietta. They are approximately 17 years old. One of the speakers no longer works. Technical diagnosis revealed that the electrostatic element in the speaker had failed, or reached the end of its life span, as I have come to understand. In addition, the power supply to this speaker also failed. Martin Logan won't accept the speakers for repair but will sell me the parts which entail two new mylar diaphragms and a power supply. I haven't taken Martin Logan up on their offer to sell me the parts because the cost seemed unreasonable to me given the cost of the speakers when new (about $2100). At any rate, these speakers now sit in my garage, in their original boxes.
I am writing you to see if any of your members would have any use for these speakers, free of charge. They would be welcome to pick them up at their convenience. I live in Stockbridge, about 20 miles east of Atlanta."
