I Want This!

Looking for a used, good condition MC Cartridge under $300, to get my feet wet in MC. I have a DenonAluminumBody.com cap, if someone has a DL-103 or DL-103R for sale.

Also looking for an LRS or .7 Magnepan speaker pair that someone is willing to sell/loan for a decent price. I'll be driving the Maggies with an Akitika GT-102 Z4 after I finish soldering it together.

I don't have any of the equipment you are looking for. Just wanted to say Hi from a fellow Schiithead. I just sold my SOL and have a left over beta tone arm. You can have it for free. Long story why, but I did make money. Still enjoying the Yggy, Freya, Vidars, Lokius etc.. Curious to hear how you like the Denon 103 MC. That may be my next cartridge.

Wow! Some great folks on here! Richard not only donated a spare Sol tonearm, but several pieces of kit that have the possibility of improving the sound of the Sol even MORE!

Also, I have a line on a used Denon DL-103D(!) for a GREAT price and a kind soul who is going to show me what a properly modded MMG or 1.5i pair can do, rather than settle for the LRS.

Unfortunately, the DL-103D fell through, as the seller couldn't find it. Instead, i have a good condition AT Signet TK7E with the TKN2 stylus. Not MC, but something else to play with. I've been promised that the search for the DL-103D will continue and I'll have the option to trade back the TK7E for the DL-103D, should it turn up. Have to place an order with Amazon for cartridge mounting screws, though. Don't have any at all.

In the meantime, i'm still wanting to get my feet wet with an under-$200 MC cartridge with at least an Elliptical stylus. Any help out there?

The search is over!

I just picked up a pair of Magnepan 1.6 QRs for the Sumiko Amethyst and some change and Steve Leung with VAS has retipped my bargain basement DL-103 with a microridge stylus and replaced the cartridge body with one of his ebony bodies. I should have it in hand within two weeks!
