California Audio Show - Photos
Author Last Post
The name "California Audio Show" suggests a huge and grand event given that California is, apparently, the 6th largest world economy. So, you may be surprised to learn that this event is actually one of the smallest high-performance audio shows in the US. This year's event featured just twenty-two exhibitors plus a silent headphone room and CD/vinyl market.

There are some advantages for exhibitors and attendees that are unique to a small show. The greatest among these is deeper opportunities to really listen. Exhibitors and attendees have much more time to get acquainted in a lower pressure environment. Less well known brands that might be ignored at a larger show tend to get lots of traffic at the California Audio Show.

Of course, one of my favorite aspects of this show is that it's only 30 miles from where I live. I was there this year helping the show organizer to run seminars. I also found time to run from room to room and take photos of the exhibits. If you have not already seen them on Facebook, here's a link to my flickr album, which also includes hastily captured equipment lists for most rooms:

I'm expecting that Constantine will put this show on again in late July of 2019. Looking forward to seeing you there if you're able to get away. As a bonus, if your ears are not tired out at the show, I'm happy to drive you down to my loft for more listening there. :)
